one last chance (yuuki)

[Chihiro Hatsume]

Chihiro was cleaning the last bits of her room, waiting for Yuuki to come over. There was only a few more days left of school and they had decided that a sleepover would be a nice way to say good bye to the summer and to a another year of school. This year was their last year of school before they went their seperate ways. Chihiro was going off to chef school and Yuuki planned to be a computer...person. So seperate ways they were going, but they'd keep in touch and meet up every now and then. Or at least that's what Chi was hoping for.

Chi's room was usually a mess, but cleaned it up just for tonight. It was a circular room and large enought to have a mini kitchen in it. Then, being on the second story of the house, they saved up some money for a skylight (that could be shielded for privacy). Its walls were a light purple with splatters of black paint randomly on the walls. That brought back memories. When Yuu first came over, they had gotten bored and messed with her room.

Making a bit of instant ramen, she ate it on her bed, which was in the middle of the room. The skylight was open and she could watch the thunderstorm above. Thunderstorms were beautiful...The lightning and thunder display was like a show of its own but she didn't have to work with anything technological. She layed down and sighed. Last year of highschool... Then she'd be on her own. No one paying for her expenses or mishaps. She'd be alone. Maybe she should get a boy friend this year. Someone to help support her out of high school.

Getting up, she threw on some old black pajama bottoms and a silk back top. She jumped up off her bed and searched for her favorite horror movies and took them downstairs to the theater before starting some snacks in the main kitchen. Popcorn, large sundaes wth unneeded amounts of toppings and a few hamburgers. Finishing the food, she took them downstairs. Going back upstairs, she gathered as many blankets she could carry and took themdownstairs. It was fun to sleep down there.

Finally hearing the ddor ring, she ran upstairs and opened the door, seeing her friend at last. "Yuuki! she said tightly hugging her friend like usual.

[Yuuki Fukushima]

Yuuki streched and sat up from her afternoon nap. Her eyes still heavy from sleeping. After she felt awake, she stood up and walked over to her dresses. Pulling the top drawer open she shifted through and grabbed her darkest pair of skinnies and a pair of pyjama pants. She placed both into a small duffle bag and grabbed a dark red teeshirt and placed it in also placing in a black tank top with a red star on it.

Sighing she heard the crack of lightning and her room exploded in white light. Yuuki walked over to her black blinds and shifted them open. Rain droplets clung to the window until they got heavy enough to slid off. The thunder rumbled off in the distance and she smiled and cracked her window open a smidge so the sound echoed louder. Lightning and thunder would help get an eerie effect on the horror movies.

Horror movies! She walked over to her large shelfing unit and ran her fingers over a few horror movies they hadn't watched in a while. Bad Effects, stupid costumes, comedy horror. She sighed, the ones that were actually good, they had watched some time in the last month. It would be boring if they knew exacatlly when everything was going to happen. Yuuki ran her hand through her hair before grabbing her makeup case from her dark mahgony vanity table and tossing it into the duffle bag.

Maybe Youta has some. Yuuki thought before opening her door and hearing the front door open and close. She tiptoed across the hallways and slid along the side of the hallway till she reached her parents room. Placing her finger tips on the door, she eased it open. The room was mostly clean, her mother had a maid go into the bedroom as soon as both her and Youta left the room.

Yuuki raced across the floor as quietly as she could and she quickly moved through the movies until she found some she was sure that she and Chi hadn't watched yet. Grabbign them she raced back out closing the door quietly and back to her room. She heard her mom's steps coming up the stairs and shoved the DVD's into the side pocket and made sure that her mom couldn't see that there was anything in there before her mom opened the door.

"You ready to leave now, hon?" She asked peering in before walking in and coming over to check in my suit case. "Are you sure you need your makeup kit? It's just Chi." She said picking up the case and nodded.

"Yeah Mom, I always put make up on in the morning." She sighed and took it back before throwing it into the duffle bag and closing it up. She pulled it onto her shoulder and kissed her Mom's cheek. "See ya tomorrow." She muttered before jumping over the corner of her bed and escaping the room before her mom wanted her to pack a jacket or something.

Yuuki opened her door and raced down the stairs. The thing that werided her out is when she got to the door, the door butler gives her a sweater she hates. Then would glare at him then he would give her her normal vest.

She stepped out side and pulled the hood up on her vest before stepping into the ran and walking towards a small shed. Pulling it open she saw the black bike with red sakura petals on it. She grabbed her helmet and hid the duffle under the seat and backed the bike up.

Yuuki sat down on the bike and put the key in and the ignition purred to life. She placed the helmet over her hair and raced down the drive way and out of the property.

She pulled up to Chi's house a few minutes later and parked her bike, hiding it before replacing her duffle bag with her helmet and tucked her keys into the same pocket as the movies and raced to the steps. She rang the door bell. Attempting to squeeze water out of her hair and clothes, the door opened a few seconds later and Chi hugged her tightly, exclaiming her name.

"Hey Chi~" She said quickly hugging her friend before stepping back. "You should really check to see if I brought my bike or my car." She said indicating the dark black silk shirt that had a dark patch of dampness. Yuuki smiled and took off her vest and placed it on a hook to dry before dropping her duffle bag down and pulled out the movies.

"I brought some movies I don't think we've seen." She said smiling largely.

Chi looked down at her shirt. Oh shit. Maybe she should have taken the thunderstorm into context, then again, she wasn't the smartest kind of person. Yuuki was. Chihiro was the kind to figure things out with experience, not deductive reasoning skills. Well, it didn't matter to Chi anyways. It wasn't like she was going to go off an get a job that required her to be ultra smart like Yuuki.

"Eh, I have plenty others," Chihiro said with a shrug of her shoulders after letting go of her friend. Yuuki set down the duffel bag and pulled out some horror movies. Chihiro's face lit up with a smile and huged her wet friend again.

"OHMYGODILOVEYOUYUUKI," she said, jumping up and down happily, her words slurred together. She took the movies from her friend and looked at them. She hadn't seen these ones in FOREVER. Maybe they'd actually get scared this time. They hadn't had a good scare in forever. Maybe if any GOOD new scary movies would come out, they wouldn't have to wait a few months before a good scare. Eh...stupid hollywood.

Grabbing the movies she ran downstairs to put them with the others. She walked back up stairs and went to the kitchen quickly to grab the snacks and placed them on the island in the middle of the kitchen. Grabbing her sundae, she grabbed a spoon and dug in.

"Take your pick," she told Yuuki after swallowing a spoonful of...fudge, vanilla ice cream and sprinkles while holding a handful of popcorn. "There's burgers, popcorn and my famous Million-Calorie Ice Cream Sundae," she said. "So what do you want to do first? Movie? Prank calls? What?" she asked, taking another bite of her sundae.

Yuuki chuckled as Chi jumped up and down happily. Her friend dissappeared as she went to put the movies downstairs, Yuuki looked around before heading into the kitchen. She leaned against the counter as Chi walked in. When she was offered food she looked at all of it and chuckled. "Are we going to eat all of this?" She asked before grabbing a handfull of popcorn. She tossed a couple pieces up in the air can caught them in her mouth.

"I'll take a burger for later and have a sundae now." She said, planning on actually spacing on how much food she piged out on that night. Yuuki grabbed a sundae before placing her spoon into it and bringing out a big chunk of sundae and nibbling on it.

"How about we watch a movie, prank call, another movie, then I'll take out my eyebrow piercing and then another movie and then we'll go from there?" She said raising her eyebrow with the piercing. She never slept with it in because it irrated her. She finished off the chunk of sundae, she lifted it up and grabbed a plate and placed the hamburger on it. Adding some chips she laughed. "Okay so what movie are we going to watch first?" She asked raising her eyebrow again.

Chi laughed at the list for the night. Obviously movies were going to be a really big part of the night, but that was fine. After one, they might not want to go to sleep for the night...or the next week. Eh, but that was the fun thing about scary movies. You really didn't sleep. Or like the dark... Basically, you're scared of every thing, but it was so fun! Especially when you have a friend to be scared with...and...a friend to scare you by sneaking up on you.

"What about we watch Unborn? I just love that movie. Scares the shit out of me each time," she said taking a few more bites of her sundae. She grabbed a plate and loaded it with a burger (after putting a piece of cheese on it) with some chips and a bowlful of popcorn. She put the bowl on the plate and picked up her sundae, balancing her food in her hands as she carefully walked down the stairs to her basement.

She placed her food on the floor and grabbed Unborn and took it to the dvd player and put it in. The awesome thing about her theater basement was that it was almost like a theater. The screen was HUGE. Maybe that's why their sleepovers and movie nights were spent at her house.

The begining ads started and Chi kept pressing the skip button until they reached the menu screen. Grabbing the clicker she flopped herself onto the large pile of blankets. She turned up the volume and let herself snuggle into the blankets.

"Yuuki...right here..." she said in a childlike voice, pointing to the spot next to her on the pile of blankets. During the movies, Chi liked to grab onto Yuuki, as if Yuuki would protect her. Which was strange because Chi was the stronger one of the two. She tossed Yuuki the remote, not trusting herself enough with the electric device.
